If you want to use plus please install msnplus before fix.
for Who use Windows Live Messenger 8.5(1302.1018)XP/VISTA/7
(it's the best way who use Windows Vista and Windows 7)
1.Right Click on your "Windows Live Messenger's icon
2.Click on Properties you will see many tabs,Shortcut,Compatibility,General,Security,Details and Previous Version.
3.Click on Compatibility Tab in This Tab you will see "Compatibility Mode"
4.Check in front of Run this Program in compatibility mode for:
- if you use Windows XP, Select Windows NT or 2000 (Msnplus can't run on this mode)
- if you use Windows Vista or 7, Select Windows Server 2003(SP1)( msnplus can run on this mode
5.Apply and OK this setting
6.Let's enjoy on your Windows Live Messenger 8.0 and 8.5
"Note I'm using WML8.5 on Windows Vista, I run on Windows Server 2003(SP1)everything is good ,msnplus and wml8.5. I try to run on Windows NT or 2000 I've found a problem, can signin for a while but WML8.5 closed automaticcally."

1.Download patch file here : Click Here To Download
2.Extract ALLSFIXWLM8.5.rar's file you will see 2 files : Messpacth and Patch WLM 8.5 finale.exe.
3.Run Patch WLM 8.5 finale.exe (You can use msnplus too)
****PS****
During applying Messpatch, you must to UNCHECK the Option named : "Perform CRC Check" So it patches can be applied.
4.If you want to customize your WLM8.5 you can install messpatch-g5-8513021018.exe.

(Credit: http://messengergeek.spaces.live.com/default.aspx) You can continue to use your current version of Messenger by setting it into Windows XP compatibility mode (yes, even on XP 64-bit). Since the instructions, paths, and shortcuts will change depending on which Messenger and Windows version you’re using, I’ve created a quick application you can run to make the necessary changes.
1. Download msngrcompat.exe and run it
2. Say Yes at the prompt make the changes
3. Messenger will run a repair (this is normal and will only happen once) and then pop up
You can now sign in as per normal. You will not need to run the msngrcompat.exe again.

Before installing the latest version of Windows Live Messenger, it is good to perform a clean un installation of Messenger. Choose the steps based on the Operating System type that you have.

· Windows Vista/7

· Windows XP
